Should I wait till the color leaves (a couple of weeks) before trying a new dye?

Anyone have success doing cornrows on short (top of the ear-length) hair? I know how to cornrow longer hair, but I want to try to do my own.

Any tips? Maybe there is a product that will keep my hair from flying all over the place while I braid?

braids&dry skin

Whenever I braid up my hair or do lots of little ponytails, my head after a couple of days gets really itchy and and full of dry skin.

Does anyone know any solutions to this problem such that I could keep my hairdo longer than 3-4 days?

Photo from Halloween finally!

So here it is folks, I've uploaded a photo to the tribe's album of the strangest hair I think I've ever had. Now mind you, it just looks kinda blue & extensiony in this picture, but the majority of the blue on my head was this crazy "styling glue" stuff which really made my hair feel like plastic. I mixed a darker blue with white to get it to the lighter blue. You know something is really off when the synthetic hair feels more natural than the real stuff. I'd also like to point out the little ponytail flip on the back that is not so obvious at a quick glance.

and yeah, my hair stayed like this for 2 days straight. Didn't budge an inch.
Damn.

Later kids! Hope you all have great new year's fun & do weird things to your hair in the process! I wanna see photos!

what's the oddest thing you've used in your hair to create the effect you were going for?

my own hair: rubber cement (although this wasn't so much for 'a look' as to express frustration)

i've put in others' hair: butterscotch candy, pizza, dirt

I read a great story once when I was in highschool about a punk growing up in suburban Canada in the 70s (I believe it was titled "Kicking Tomorrow"). His normal hairstyle involved superglue and nails. I always wanted to try this.
